Als Datenträger sind Floppies nicht mehr zeitgemäß.
Auf Grund des magnetischen Speichermediums und der mechanischen Belastung durch die Schreib-/Leseköpfe wird die Funktion der Floppy-Disks immer unzuverlässiger und irgendwann kommt der Tag, an dem nichts mehr geht.
Das ist dann der Tag an dem die Daten verloren sind!

to store data, floppy disks are no longer up-to-date. Because of the magnetic media and the continuous mechanical stress by the read-write heads the function of a floppy disks gets worse the more it is used. Then the day is not far away, your precious data are lost.

Wenn ihr System es nicht möglich macht, ihre Daten von der Floppy auf eine Festplatte zu kopieren, dann bleibt Ihnen bisher nichts anderes übrig als genügend viele Sicherungskopien ihrer Floppies anzufertigen.

If You are lucky, your OS-system can copy data from your floppies to a hard drive. If not, you have to make a lot of backup copies.  

Leider kann dann immer noch das Floppy-Laufwerk selber den Geist aufgeben. Die orginal Floppy Laufwerke sind oft nur mehr schwer zu bekommen. Standard PC-Laufwerke sind da natürlich kein Problem, aber es gibt eine große Anzahl von Laufwerken, die nicht mehr gebaut werden.

Rough luck, if the floppy drive itself fails. The original drive maybe difficult to buy. If you have a standard PC-drive it wouldn't be a problem, but there are a lot of drives that aren't built anymore.
 

Hier ist die Lösung:
Here is the solution.....

Egal ob DD oder HD Floppies, 3 1/2" oder 5 1/4":  Bevor Sie ihre wertvollen Daten nicht mehr lesen können, sollten Sie sie auf moderne Flashspeicherkarten umkopieren. Das Kopieren erfolgt mit einem kleinen Softwaretool (Windows OS). Dabei können bis zu 99 Floppy disks auf eine einzige Flashkarte gespeichert werden.

Don't care whether its a DD or HD floppy, 3.5" or 5 1/4 ". Before your precious data are lost, You should copy them to state-of-the-art memory flash cards. The copy is done with the help of a small software tool (Windows-OS). You could easily copy as much as 99 floppy disks onto a single flash card.


Nach dem Kopieren, übernimmt das SFE100 Laufwerk komplett die Funktion ihres alten Laufwerks. Statt der langsamen und fehlerträchtigen alten Floppydisks wird nun ein schneller und sicherer Flashspeicher verwendet. Das alte Floppylaufwerk können Sie dann beruhigt entsorgen.

Mechanisch paßt das SFE100 in einen Standard  3 ½ Zoll Einbauschacht, oder mit Hilfe eines Einbaurahmens auch in einen 5 ¼ Zoll Schacht.

 The SFE100 fits neatless into a standard 3.5" slot, or with an optional frame into a 5 1/4" slot.

Wie funktioniert das Kopieren?    How to copy your data to the SFE100?

1.    ihre Orginalfloppies mit Hilfe des "Compact Flash Tools" oder ähnlichen Programmen in imagedateien umwandeln.
you convert the content of your floppy disks into image files using the software  "Compact Flash Tool"

2.    die Imagedateien auf die Flashkarte mit Hilfe eines Kartenlesers (in moderneren PCs meist integriert) und des "Compact Flash Tools" übertragen
you copy the images to the compact flash card by using a suitable flashcard reader (most PCs are already equipped with one) and the "Compact Flash Tools"

3.    Ihr altes Floppy Laufwerk ausbauen und statt dessen das SFE100 einbauen
Exchange your old floppy drive with the SFE100 drive and load it with the compact flash card

4.    Mit Hilfe der beiden frontseitigen Tasten eines von 99 Floppy Images auswählen und schon sieht ihr System wieder den Inhalt ihrer alten Floppy disk.
by selecting one out of 99 possible floppy image files with the 2 front-side buttons, your system will work as usual as if the old floppy drive is still connected
